Judy and the Jacaranda, 2010

The video takes you through the book page-by-page. There is no sound.
ABOUT: This work uses the structure of the book to explore a woman's changing identity over a lifetime, on a back-drop of seasonal changes in a Jacaranda tree. The book employs a Japanese stab binding, acknowledging the tradition seen in artworks from that country, which use seasons as a metaphor for the cycle of Life.
Acquired: State Library of Queensland; Bibliotheca Librorum apud Artificem.
Available (edition of 14, with 4 of these a special edition with slipcover, bound by Monica Oppen)
